Our religion is a restoration of true and living Christianity based upon the original inspired teachings and practices of the Prophet Joseph Smith. It is built upon the testimony of angels and apostles concerning the savior Jesus Christ, who is our God and King, and the cornerstone of our faith.
As Mormons, we believe that the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored by God through the prophet Joseph Smith. The largest group which practices a form of Mormonism is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose headquarters is in Salt Lake City, Utah. A smaller group called the Community of Christ has it’s roots in the Restoration, but has beliefs which align much more closely with liberal Protestantism rather than Mormonism.
We believe that the LDS Church has distorted, deemphasized, and in some cases altogether abandoned many important elements of our religion. We believe that the root cause of this was persecution; the martyrdom of the Prophet and his brother was as untimely as it was devastating, and resulted in confusion regarding certain points of doctrine which brother Joseph was unable to fully implement and explain. Furthermore, the fear of persecution has led to the LDS Church making concessions to appease mainstream society, setting aside of doctrinal distinctives and cultural identity and even assisting in the suppression of to present itself as more appealing to the world- if not to attract new members, then to gain acceptance as ‘normal’. We believe that the result of all of this has been significant deviation from the fulness of the gospel.
Our goal is to present a more authentic expression of the Mormon religion by adhering to the original inspired teachings and practices of the Prophet Joseph Smith, and whatever else the Lord will reveal to his faithful remnant. We provide a means by which the loyally devoted may work together in living in alignment with the principles of our religion, including the Higher Laws of the Gospel, which others have either set aside, or corrupted through priestcraft. As we grow closer to each other, and closer to our Heavenly Father by following the example of his Firstborn, we can hope to achieve a community in which the members thereof are of one heart and one mind, with no poor among them- a people worthy of taking upon themselves the name Zion.
We are a continuation of the one true and living Church of Jesus Christ, restored by the power and direction of God through the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1830, as well as a remnant of this free and holy American Nation, the inhabitants of which are a covenant people unto the Lord, who has established this land as a promised land of liberty which the righteous are to inherit. We stand opposed to the secret combinations which have incited the institutions of this world to kill the prophets and fight against the Church of the Lamb. In defiance to the Evil One and those who do his will, we gather together in one accord under the Title of Liberty, and make a solemn vow and covenant to preserve the cause of the Christians. Our belief system is one of faith, family, and liberty; our movement is one of resistance, revival, and obedience to the will and commandments of the Eternal God of all other gods, even the Holy One of the American Israel.
